Twitter Backlash…..
Every blog i have read either on tumblr or anywhere else this week has whinged that Twitter is the worst invention the web has seen since friends reunited.
well i would not say it was that bad but it is pretty useless….
i know its designed to be a short and simple record of your day to day to be shared with you’re friends but isn’t short and sweet posts is what Tumblr is all about ? if you were so worried about your community then you would drop a line on face-book would you not? changing your status every 30 seconds to reflect on your mood…
I met a buddy of mine recently and he had checked my “mood” on myspace and my status on face book and tried to find me on twitter to figure out how the evening would go. this to me was like trying to see through oil as i hadn’t updated any of them for a couple weeks… he then proceeded to whinge that i didn’t keep my “shit” up to date…
What happened to that simple phrase “how are you ?” is this not the point of a beer or two with your pals ? which brings me back to my original point people are now missing human interaction so much that they are forgetting the quid pro quo of a conversation. the back and forth so they are resulting in blogs to rant constantly about anything and everything and for people to then read this and comment will be the shape of a conversation of the future no longer will there be quick back and fourths but instead replaced with structured sentences in the form of open ended questions now is this for better or for worse?
(rant & open ended sentence irony is entirely intentional)
